As a business coach, I’m getting a lot of calls for potential clients for 2018. Since people are currently figuring out their business goals for the next year, it makes sense that they are reaching out to people who can help them.
If you’ve ever wondered whether or not hiring a business coach is worth the money, I’m here to tell you that it is. I tell you this from the perspective of not only being a business coach, but also being a client of business coaches throughout the years. Here are four advantages of hiring a business coach in 2018.
They keep you accountable.
Perhaps one of the greatest advantages of hiring a business coach in 2018 is that they hold you accountable. If you have someone to answer to, you will be more likely to do the work.
Just note that accountability and hand holding are not the same thing. A business coach will give you deadlines and check in, but they won’t do the work for you.
They keep you organized.
My group coaching and private clients will both tell you that hiring a business coach keeps them organized. The reason is that a business coach can map out exactly what tasks they need to do and when. They can also tell you what results you’re supposed to get from the tasks. This is extremely helpful when you’re not sure which direction to take.
For example, I have a private client now who I am helping create a sales funnel. Before hiring me, she didn’t know what components were needed or what work needed to come first. With my help, we’ve created content, a webinar and started working on the email marketing after the webinar.
They keep you focused.
In addition to keeping you organized, hiring a business coach can also keep you focused. Many small business owners suffer from shiny object syndrome. We want to do everything. In addition, some of us are really good at creating but not as good at executing. This is where a business coach comes in.
For instance, I hired a business coach earlier this year to help me create a scalable system in my business for easier sales. I was very good at creating, so good that I created a 70-module course. My business coach then told me how that was nuts, helped me edit down the product and helped me create a launch sequence.
The result was that I stopped creating unnecessary content and focused on the important stuff. It also led to a five-figure launch of a product and a system I can repeat.
They save you time.
Perhaps the best benefit of hiring a business coach is they save you time – and as a result, money.
When I first quit my job to focus on my business, I made the mistake of not re-investing in regular business coaching. I feel like this is one of the reasons it’s taken me so long to achieve the goals I had in mind for myself. I simply did not invest in guidance and therefore learned a lot of things the hard way.
Now I know better and regularly invest in coaching. Every time I do, I make a return on my investment. I also tend to do it rather quickly.
Final Thoughts
If you’re having a difficult time staying focused in your business, it may be time to hire a business coach in 2018. Speaking from the perspective of being a client, they are well worth the money. As a business coach myself, I can tell you that those who invest are the ones who see the results the fastest. They also have a sense of peace because they aren’t doing things alone.
